Turn me into your instrument

imageimage

Underneath all the texts, all the sacred psalms and canticles, these watery varieties of sounds and silences, terrifying, mysterious, whirling and sometimes gestating and gentle must somehow be felt in the pulse, ebb, and flow of the music that sings in me. My new song must float like a feather on the breath of God.
~Hildegard von Bingen~

I welcome all things

William Morris

The ancient masters were profound and subtle.

Their wisdom was unfathomable.

There is no way to describe it;

all we can describe is their appearance.

They were careful

as someone crossing an iced-over stream.

Alert as a warrior in enemy territory.

Courteous as a guest.

Fluid as melting ice.

Shapable as a block of wood.

Receptive as a valley.

Clear as a glass of water.

Do you have the patience to wait

till your mud settles and the water is clear?

Can you remain unmoving

till the right action arises by itself?

The Master doesn’t seek fulfillment.

Not seeking, not expecting,

she is present, and can welcome all things.

~Lao Tzu~

Can you feel her footsteps on your heart

The door open, the path winding back to the beginning

Can you feel his loving embrace

Never separate from you, never far

Oh and the strength it takes!

Not to let go, but to sink into the embrace?

To look in the mirror and see her – you!

Stand tall

You have grown

Many mountains taller

And those mirrors are now your eyes

To help others find their true face

Your hands are his hands

Clasped in prayer

Oh, won’t you have a hearth?

Can he love her? Can the soul really be satisfied with such polite affections? To love is to burn, to be on fire – like Juliet or Guinevere or Eloise. To die for love – what could be more glorious?

Sense & Sensibility (c/o Emma Thompson) – movie screenwriter

Open heart(h)

Look into the fire, you will find my face there, my body – moving like a lion or an eagle. I am here and everywhere. I am your face. I am you, burning bright.

You must be open to it, you must have a heart(h) for the fire to dance and wind its way in – burning out the pathways you knew (think you knew). True fire purifies. Nothing that falls away was meant to stay.

when will your visitor arrive? will you recognise the knock at the door?

I hold a candle for thee…

Trying to find your twin through a maze of shadows – dreams where you remember clues that fade like ghosts on waking. The universe is guiding you there but sometimes the twists and turns weary your bones and your soul.

I will hold a candle for thee.

We are in a library. All of time exists around us – no past, no future. We are the wizards of the faery tales. Rather than reading and being that which you think you should, trying to ‘resonate’ or connect with things you feel you should, take this candle. Find the volume with golden symbols etched on red leather, the ones that ‘sing’ to your heart. The book you find manages to quieten your mind. Trust in the stillness, for in this stillness, truth.

you are divine

Remember your birthright, to be love and to be loved. You deserve it. You have a wellspring of strength. When you have wrestled with this concept, truly owned (and rocked) your own power – when you are casually browsing in this enchanted library…….your eyes will lock with another. Lock and key. Sky and sea.

I hold a candle for thee…
